In 2012 Couchman began working on Omani Women نساء عمانيات, exploring portraiture and collaborating with women across the Sultanate of Oman. In October 2015 she unveils these photographic portraits and launches her latest book Omani Women نساء عمانيات which documents this artist’s journey across Oman.
“She camped in the mountains, the desert and on the beaches of this beautiful country, in order to gain access to the communities living between the northern tip of Musandam and the southern border with Yemen; between the edge of The Empty Quarter bordering with Saudi Arabia to the west; and along the length of the east coast and onto Masirah Island. The series depicts the diversity of Omani women, their self-presentation, fashion, modesty and beauty in the country. These portraits depict a very varied group of women and their individual style. Couchman believes that photography by its nature allows the viewer to consider the beauty in the details of how the women she met presented themselves. The portraits are the product of a journey through Oman, many conversations with Omani women and the quiet nights camping out under our starry desert skies.

بدأت كوشمان في مشروعها الأخير سنة 2012 بإكتشاف البورتريه وتعاونت مع مجموعة نساء من مختلف أرجاء السلطنة. وفي أكتوبر 2015، كشفت هيلين عن هذه الصور الفوتوغرافية وأصدرت كتابها الأخير المرأة العمانية الذي يوثق رحلة الفنانة وجولاتها عبر عمان.

صوّرت هذه السلسلة تنوع المرأة العمانية في مظهرها، ولباسها، وتواضعها وجمالها. هذه الصور تبرز مجموعة متنوعة جدا من النساء وأساليبهم الفردية. وتعتقد كوشمان أن التصوير بطبيعته يسمح للمشاهد أن يرى الجمال في تفاصيل طريقة تقديم النساء اللواتي إلتقتهن لانفسهم. كل هذه الصور هي نتاج لرحلة عبر عمان، والعديد من المحادثات مع المرأة العمانية والليالي الهادئة وهي تخيم في الصحراء تحت النجوم المتلألئة في السماء.
